Buying motives vary depending on sales industry.

For automobiles the buying motives are as follows:

Safety
Performance
Appearance
Comfort
Economical
Dependability

By identifing which of these buying motives is the primary motivation for the customer, then I am able to tailor my presentation and demonstration to put more emphasis on that motive. -jrboyd
