AFLAC on Facebook and Twitter - Marketing Innovation

Sales Training »
AFLAC took the plunge... we're the first corporate Facebook client, their twittering, and now on U-tube... Pages is not even up yet and apparently we've got over 4,000 friends or whatever...

We've got you under our wing... their new slogan and working with a branded new word... AFLACTS....

Guess I've got a lot of technology to catch up on....thmbp2;

This is going to be interesting.

AFLAC has come out with new products, new markets, new definitions of full time workers (19 hours) and a new branding. We talk about marketing here... AFLAC has a new 3 minute sales script, a new market positioning via a multitude of media... twitter, facebook, Disney/Pixar and three new commercials.

Now forgive me, but I've seen very few adverstising/marketing campaigns that come close to what AFLAC is doing starting today. As a matter of fact, I know of nothing that has rivaled this. AFLAC already has over 90% branding recognition and now they are copywriting another term... AFLACTS...

For the salesperson at AFLAC they came up with a new 3 minute script that is 1000% opposite from where we've been. So... the Duck is spreading it's wings.

From my perspective this massive advertising/marketing effort will help us overcome the one main thing we've been complaining to AFLAC about for 5 years.... great everyone knows who we are, no one knows exactly what we are... or more correctly maybe, what we do.

Pretty exciting times for AFLAC and they are having a sales training day company wide. I've remembered the Nike project, the Geico Ghecko, Progressive, the Good hands, and Budweiser had some of the best commercials and brand I've ever seen, and coors silver bullet... but this is by far more intense than anything I can remember.

My guess is all the tweet followers are AFLAC agents. Regardless how great the marketing, it only matters if it leads to more business. AFLAC agents seem to be everywhere. I have heard many business owners complain a new agent stops into to prospect them every other day.

No intent to bash; just sharing what I hear on the street. -jdedwa11
Re: AFLAC on Facebook and Twitter - Marketing Innovation #4
I doubt many if ANY of the tweeters were AFLAC agents as we only found out about it today... but as to the complaint that an AFLAC agent stops by every day is a gripe that even AFLAC agents complain about... thmbdn2;
