Looking for Hiring advice

Sales Training »
Hi there-

I am in a pickle- as a creative entrepreneur and sales guy (who sells what he makes with his own two hands) I have a very intimate relationship with the product I make and sell.

The following opportunity is different because it is no as emotional....

I have an opportunity that I have been working on for the last 3 years or so that is ready to take on a sales team. The product is B2B and deals with commercial printing and product development. Question is....What do you think is the best way to find qualified sales pros who will be loyal and work the program that I will let them develop.

Initially the hires will be straight commission as high as 25% of gross based on margin. The best performer who shows any management promise may be offered an equity position after the first year.

Please give me some tips- I don't want to waste this opportunity and a sales team is key to developing it.

I really appreciate it. -bierker

How many sales have you made with this product? I think that is going to bear on your success and direction with this.

Top sales performers don't necessarily correlate to good managers -DIAMONDSTAR

That is VERY true! Be careful with this one.

What is the sales track record so far? That's what someone who is serious is going to want to see before jumping in. -mcobb533
