OK, I have a question for any of you senior sales managers out there.

Why is it that so many senior sales managers/directors, when they don't immediately get their way -or- the the answer they want, fall back on..

- Pick one -

"I can't wait that long."
"We will miss sales."
"This will hurts sales."
"We need the sales."

or some other related B.S. line that serves only as an attempt to strike the fear of missed sales into the hearts and minds of other senior execs?

When in reality it appears to be nothing more than a childish fear and loathing of simply hearing "No" or "Not right now".

CEO's are usually the only ones that fall for this crap and other senior execs, as myself, usually cringe with "here we go again", chicken little is going to go with the "Sky is going to fall" rant again.

I'm just asking because I figured I could get some solid feedback here.

And don't tell me it's personality driven.. stcktng;

Thanks.. -Eric_Horde
