What are some things you say or do that "light up" your prospect.

When I say light up I mean when you say or do something that gets the prospects attention so much so that you can see a visual expression of happiness or surprise.

A simple thing I say is "Thats why I'm here."

Prospect says "I'm happy with what I have."

I say "Thats why I'm here."

As someone who works with real estate, I often see a visual expression of happiness or surprise from prospects when I approach them and say, "Hi. I noticed your sign. Is your home still for sale?"

This is a sincere inquiry about something they are usually very interested in and something I may be interested in discussing further.

I imagine that regardless of what you are selling if you talk in terms of the other person's interests they will tend to "light up". - by Jeff Blackwell
