Selling is a transfer of ...
Some people say that selling is a transfer of belief. Others say that selling is a transfer of enthusiasm. How would you finish this statement,
"Selling is a transfer of ..."
- by Community Mailbox
In my opinion, both statements are too vague to be of value.
"Selling is a transfer of belief." - Belief about what? I may share your belief about the benefit of a certain feature but have my own ideas on the value of that benefit.
"Selling is a transfer of enthusiasm." - Enthusiasm for what? I may share your enthusiasm for the latest model but have my own feelings about the cost-benefit ratio of upgrading.
The statements could be improved by being more specific (e.g., selling is a transfer of belief in and/or enthusiasm for what is being offered) yet even these more specific statements leave something to be desired.
It would be closer to the truth to say that selling is a transfer of perspective. - by Jeff Blackwell
