Networking Events

I'm not much of a "Networker" as of yet. Does anyone have any advice on how or where to get started? - by Newbie
You could always start out with the Chamber of Commerce functions. They're pretty tame usually. - by Gilbert
There are quite a few good books out on Networking. Here's one that I like:

Thanks for the recommendation. I just bought a copy off Amazon. :) - by Jackie
You might be able to find a networking club or group in your area. These types of clubs/groups are actually fairly common. - by SpeedRacer

A great place to look is Meetup.com.

Go to www.meetup.com and type in your interest and your city and you will the results that come back.

If you can't find anything, then why not start your own Meetup networking group.

I just did this when I couldn't find a networking group for the Energy services sector in Calgary. I have close to 70 members and we are just about to have our first networking event where there ate 30 people registered and 15 maybe's. Not bad in my opinion.

Hope this helps. - by salestipaday
