Everybody, to one extent or another, uses persuasive communication in daily life. Even the best of the best salespeople.

That may or may not be true. Is it possible for someone to simply present, to reply, to be in situations without any persuasive manipulations or is that impossible? If possible, how?

I'll restate that: Is it possible for someone to simply present, to reply, to be in a situations without persuasion or is that impossible? If possible, how?

Sure, if this person was to somehow bypass the principles of persuasion that are part and parcel of our society.

Can you see yourself in a selling situation that is productive and mutual that has bypassed "the principles of persuasion that are part and parcel of our society." -- Marcus [if those can be defined]?

I ask my grand daughter: would you like to to to get an ice cream cone and of course she says she does - I have bypassed any persuasion but I knew she would say she does. Likewise, I ask a woman if what I have to offer is something she wants to know more about or something she wants and she says to either question that she does - I have bypassed persuasion.

If you're interested in learning more about these principles check out the book "Influence: Science and Practice" by Cialdini.

I'll look at it -

"Can you see yourself in a selling situation that is productive and mutual that has bypassed "the principles of persuasion that are part and parcel of our society."? Any answer to that?

I believe it is entirely possible to be successful in situations without using persuasion and communicating more clearly and directly and to the point without any science of influence or persuasion.

No, not at all.

After reading Cialdini's book if you still hold the same belief I would be happy to revisit this topic with you.

This Belief vs That Belief

I'm not going to read the book - I just read an interview with him presenting six things in his selling system - that's enough. You misunderstand me - I'm not talking about a belief in something Marcus, I'm talking about how something is done, how I do something as in the two examples I gave.

I haven't written about this belief vs that belief. Have you been in selling situation without using persuasion to be successful?
