My hike equals forty miles per week x four which is one hundred-sixty per month.

What I listen to hiking are my thoughts, my OM section of the walk - breathing and sound which quiets and clears the mind - and as much stillness of the mind as I can accomplish to hear the music of the wind through trees, cars, etc.

I also work out an hour a day doing a combination of free standing weights, yoga and assorted isometrics and stretches or muscle and flex ability - I listen to this then: http://www.bujinkan.com/[Listen to it for thirty minutes and see if you like it.]

Otherwise I listen to all kinds of music as I posted earlier.

Yikes. Your name is MIKE??? I've been calling you Mitch all this time. SORRY. I will definitely check that out and tell you what I thought. I have to say, Mike, I am so envious of your schedule--2 hour walk and 1 hour work out. My dream. (I guess I better get to work to make that happen, huh?)

RainMaker - Most of the Indie Rock I listen to is through Yahoo! Music. I use my instant messenger to get on their "radio" and select the Indie Rock station.

Yeah, that's it. I couldn't remember the name of it since I didn't have it open at the time I was making the post.

You can make it happen, Rainmaker - you can also do what I do! Mike Michelozzi [from Michael Michelozzi] or Mr. Michelozzi [when I taught school] became Mr. Mitch or just Mitch so I use them all - here it's MitchM - Mitch or Mike or Michael is fine.

Here's another great link with flute music from many cultures - MP3 downloads - if you like flute [with instrumentation on most] this site offers so much.http://www.harpsong.org/traditional.html#japanese

Mike, can I listen to music on this site or I need to purchase it?

Also, my 7-year old son (who has inherited my love for percussion) saw something on TV called Animusic (might have been on PBS) and spent 35.00 of his Christmas money ordering it. This computer animated music is the most fascinating and creative piece of animation I have ever seen.

Here is a link to the website. Take a look at the video clips of the songs. They are fun to watch. My favorite song is Pipe Dream.
