Re: Domain Name
I've registered a domain name or two over the last year with www.mydomain.com with no complaints.

Re: Domain Name
www.dnbuy.com. Domains are only $8.95/year. I have quite a few names with them and have been pleased with their service.

Not all companies are the same. For instance, it's my understanding that "Go Daddy" is using 302 redirects when forwarding domains. That's a problem! |

In a nutshell, a 302 redirect is a "temporary" redirect and can cause problems in the form of "Duplicate Content" with Google. If you are going to redirect/forward domains a 301 "permanent" redirect is what you should be using. To see what type of redirect is being used for your domain forwarding type in your URL in a Server Header Checker. The result should be: Status: HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently |

Re: Domain Name
Ok, that is interesting. I checked mine are HTTP/1.1 200 OK. Don't have any idea what that means, but I have not had a problem with them (not yet, at least). What registrar do you use?

When two (2) or more sites/urls share the same content the potential for a "Duplicate Content" penalty arises. The penalty is to filter out the duplicate pages from the search engine results pages [SERPs]. Of course, if you're not trying to generate free traffic from the search engines then this doesn't matter. ![]() |

Re: Domain Name
I agree, 302 redirects are a big problem right now with Google. Also, Google seems to be cracking down pretty hard on "Duplicate Content" recently.

Re: Domain Name
Salespro,
Who do use for your $8.50 and 301 forwarding? Does this price include URL framing and email forwarding? |
