Hi everyone,
Decided to reach out and get ideas and help. I'm somewhat new to sales. In the past I was a manager on the technical side in the security systems arena. I've moved over to the sales side and am finding I am doing well. I've heard folks from the technical side rarely do well in sales and I am going to prove that statement wrong. I've been in the security industry for over 25 years and am wanting to enjoy the sales process. I am currently with a good solid company. The down side is everything is about volumn. I tend to want quality over volumn so I am pondering switching over to what appears to be a better paid position if I do as well as I am doing now. I will be required to self generate more business and that is scary. I'm looking forward to hearing how you folks do it, you know the saying, "stick with the winners". |

Thanks for the welcome
I am located in Castro Valley which is right next to hayward in the East Bay (east of the san francisco bay).
I went ahead and filled out my application for this new position and we'll see. There is some kind of personality test I have to take as well. The self generating component is a bit scarey even though I am generating some of my own business. I'm hoping my new boss will access me with the process as he did very well in Sales. I look forward to reading many of the threads and staying on top. |
