Gary Boye, was that insult aimed at salespeople in general, forum members in general, or just this thread's participants?
I'm sure it was aimed at whoever cared to receive it.

I've had my fill of this thread. I set out to learn more about elevator speeches by asking some probing questions instead of assuming the value of it just because it is an accepted technique or people who write books say so. In real life, it didn't work for me. I wanted to see if that was the case for others as well.

I've heard all I care to hear on the topic. As the author of this thread, I am no longer soliciting participation. If you have an ax to grind or a bone to pick--do it elsewhere.

Frankie, you did not even make a single contribution to this thread that was on topic. Why are you posting in it at all? Did you vote? Do you use elevator speeches? Do you have opinions about elevator speeches that go beyond ridiculing me for questioning their usefulness?

THAT WAS PURPOSE OF THIS THREAD. It was a genuine inquiry--not a spitting match--which is what it has become. I can assure you that I will not be starting any controversial threads designed to ask probing questions and make people question the norm on this forum--any time soon--if at all.

That sounds fair.

The winner

Thank you for reciprocating the kindness and spirit of helpfullness you will find in my posts on threads started by you--such as the one when you were feeling burned out. Also, I was the first of 2 people out of the many, many members here who stopped what I was doing, and took a moment to acknowlege and welcome you when you first joined and introduced yourself. I have no motive or compensation or duty to welcome people. This is not my forum.

Congratulations, Frankie. You won the spitting contest.

I find myself feeling sad for you and the attitude you've displayed. As I posted earlier, good luck with that.

Save your sympathy for someone who needs it. We all reap what we sow. Since it is your style to get in the last word--make it a good one. I will spare the board my rebuttal and give you the last word. I have no desire to add another 3 pages of snipes.
