Open and honest communication allows people to express their thoughts, ideas, feelings freely without fear of ridicule. This type of communication tends to deepen rapport.

If you’re not open and honest then you can’t expect you’re customer to be open and honest.

Milton,

I think one of the best ways to be honest is by admitting the shortcomings of your product. If you talk about it up front, you can present this in the way you want to. Rather than your competitor bringing it. Then, you're in a defensive position.

Just my opinion.

I voted yes that open and honest communication will help. My customers ask my opinion about various products I sell and I tell them the truth about them. If I had a bad experience with an item, I will tell them and suggest a different but similar item that we carry. They seem to appreciate this.
