How about identifying the source of resistance and removing or reducing it. If that doesn't work how about preemting common resistance in the sales call.

Don't focus on the resistance. As per Agent Smith, focus on pre-empting the resistance and/or use it for what it is, a buying signal. You may also want to define what you call "resistance". That may help eveyone with suggesting appropriate counter measures.

Teach them not to think of it as "handling the situation". Prospects are not opponents to be "handled".
