My best sale isn't really an exciting story. It was more of a surprise on my part when someone bought a 1500 word short story from me for 65.00.

That's exciting!

As far as online sales go, I've sold some bulk lots that ended up rather well, but for the purpose of simplicity (ok I have a bad memory,) I'll just mention a single item sale that was good.

Once, about 5 or 6 years ago on ebay, I listed a bottle of my favorite perfume, Gucci 1 - and was shocked to see it end at almost $200. So, over the next several months - I scoured the internet, buying Gucci 1 (a discontinued fragrance,) from every online perfume venue I could find - and made some decent money selling it, mostly to the same buyer.

Once, I even landed a rare 8 ounce bottle - from a Perfume Store in New York - and the price - $500. I sold it to my buyer for $1000, within an hour after I received it in the mail.

Those were some easy sales.

Cool

Wow, Eerie, that's excellent! It seems that there are abundant opportunities for things like this if one can research the market and then put a little money into it hoping to double or triple it. I've always wanted to start that type of thing with first edition books and never quite got around to starting it.

First Edition books are hard.

I purchased a book (about $50 at a B&M store,) about collecting books and their values, and let me just say ," well, before EBAY maybe!

Ebay kind of throws those rare items in the not so rare category now.

Seems that the "best sales" are those that are unexpected. Same here...and it happened just last week...I called a prospect that I really didn't expect to land. I was calling from my home office early in the morning. My wife and I had had a "tiff" and I was a tad perturbed going into the call and was prepared to blame her for the result. Upon asking the prospect's decision on the quote I had provided the day before, he accepted. I was so surprised, I said "Really?" I quickly gained my composure and closed the deal. I, of course, took full credit for the outcome.

My best sale was when I owned a business and I sold a vacation package for $1500. I received a $1000 commission on the sale. It couldn't have come at a better time! I think the best sales are the ones where you are working towards your future.

I think my 'best' sale was also my largest. eceived a wire for about 11 million. It also put me over the top and made me Rep of the Year. Memorable for different reasons.

Way to go susana! Since I am new to sales, I don't have that many to call great yet...except one. Newly hired, just out of training and hadn't sold anything yet when I got a great lead. Before I knew it I had my first sale! And the great part was that it was on my birthday! Happy birthday to meeee.....
