e-gold

I recently registered into this payment processing medium for the basic reason that it didn't require a credit card and everything else needed to transact a business online. I heard some bad things about it but it is widely used across the net. How reliable is this one? I'm planning to use it when I take a plunge into online auction.

Hello Mate (Hey, I always wanted to type that!)
I've only heard of e-Gold, have never used it. I have a side venture that has on-line sales and I've been using PayPal's "Buy Now" button. It's perfect because there are no monthly charges, or need to sign up with a credit card processing company. Until the venture is big enough to need that, it's simply not worth the investment.

PayPal also has shopping cart alternatives that I hear are very good.

I recommend the "Buy Now" button because it is easy to set-up; their fee isn't that expensive; and you know that your prospective buyers trust it.

I have been using e-gold for 9 months already. It had a problem last December 2006 because the FBI had a hunch that e-gold is the medium used by terrorists or gangsters to transfer money. But the FBI found no such evidence of transactions.

Anyway, I think e-gold is better than Paypal in the sense that it covers more countries than Paypal do. But the money in e-gold is fluctuating. When the value of gold goes up, your money will grow. And your money will go down if the value of gold goes down.
