Voice Over IP to Boost Shopping Cart Sales and Decrease Abandonment

I use an ecommerce system to manage my website, sell products, etc. This am, they introduced a new system where a prospect can click a button and 'call' you. As I made a post last week about all the people who want to email and not talk to people, I thought this was interesting. If I have a prospect who is wavering, I want them to call me. I wonder how many Internet Marketers will see how this will help them sell more.

Is this idea for the customers who won't pick up the phone to call?

It's actually so someone can call you. You just put a button on your sales letter page that says "Have a question? Call me". The prospect then calls me directly and I can answer their question. This should cut down on those who visit and then leave before buying.

Susan, is the advantage that the prospect calls you direct? How is this different from a regular phone enquiry?

Since I wasn't expalining this very well...

TalkOne is a revolutionary communication tool for your online business. TalkOne allows you to place a button on your website(s) and in your emails to enable your users to instantly connect to your business by phone.

Once a user clicks on the button, the TalkOne system will launch a popup window prompting them for their telephone number. TalkOne will then connect both you and your user by telephone.

TalkOne buttons can also be automatically inserted into several of your GoldbarOne tools, including ShopOne order forms, ForumOne discussion forums, ContactOne™ forms and your AffiliateOne login area.

With TalkOne™ you can:

  • Increase your closing ratio by adding the human touch to your ordering process (research shows closure rates exceed 90% when customers interact with live customer service).
  • Build a stronger relationship with your affiliates by allowing them to instantly communicate with you or your affiliate manager with just the click of a button.
  • Decrease shopping cart abandonment by being able to answer questions that come up during the ordering process in real time.
  • Add a "Call Me" button to your sig file allowing hot prospects, important contacts, etc. to connect with you instantly.
  • Protect your users privacy by keeping all parties phone numbers confidential.

This is through Goldbar.net. If you're familiar w/ Marc Goldman (king of joint ventures), this is the ecommerce system he developed.

I must be missing something because I don't see the advantage of this unless you previously were not displaying your customer service phone number or weren't accepting these type of calls.

Most direct response sales letters simply have an "Order Now" button. They rarely even contain an email address. That's why this would be of value.

Couldn't you just as easily add your phone number to your web page? Why wouldn't someone add their customer service or sales department phone number to their sales letter? Doesn't that seem odd?
