Weather Delaying Deliveries

My Avon order arrived just in time for the terrible ice and snow storm that we are having. I have everything sorted and ready to deliver, including brochures for new prospects.

Now I'm afraid to take to the streets (walking) to do the job. I'm a senior citizen and really do fear falling on the ice. I'm very disappointed because I know this will affect my sales for this campaign.

I wish I had a big strong fella nearby who would walk with me and let me hang onto his arm. ha! I will have to turn in my next order on the 11th of December so I have to get these brochures out there. Any suggestions?

Ozzie are you talking about delivering people's orders or prospecting?

I have three orders to deliver and about 15 brochures to deliver to homes in the neighborhood. I called one customer and she said not to worry about delivering it. I'm sure the other two would be ok waiting too but I really need to collect what they owe me so I can pay for the order.

Neither snow, rain, nor gloom of night

The weather problems can be a good opportunity to build your credibility with your clients by showing them that you're willing to go the extra mile. Is there a friend or family member who can go on your deliveries with you? You drive they deliver?

I think the friend or family member is an excellent suggestion.

If you had to give someone something for their efforts, could it be baked goods instead of cash? I know some people who do that.

By the way, I hear the weather has been terrible in the Vancouver, BC area as well.

I not only am afraid to walk in this but I also don't drive in it. I haven't been able to get either of my nearby family members to walk with me so I am using this time to continue studying the business. I will have to make do with the orders I have right now and deliver as soon as things thaw a little.

I'm trying to turn this setback into something positive like I read in another post. I'm focusing on my ecustomers instead of the local ones right now.

I think it was Tom Hopkins who said he had a plaque on a wall that read, "What is the most productive use of my time right now?" As long as you're answering that question honestly then you're on the right track.

Maybe I am on the right track because I got a new ecustomer order yesterday! I'm going to put on my boots this afternoon and attempt to deliver a few brochures. Hope I don't fall down!

Guess what? I got my deliveries made today on foot. I walked very slowly and was afraid the entire time but I got it done and also passed out a few brochures. I still have plenty of those to do yet.

My fear of falling is a result of a bad fall some years ago....plus the fact that I'm getting on in years.

It's good to hear about your progress, ozzie. I like your approach of focusing on ecustomers when the weather slowed everybody down on the streets.

It reminds me to use the most effective use of my time in the different areas I work in.
