I agree that it's probably usually true, unless they happened to get something that they were specifically wanted for free.

After my computer was crippled with the sasser worm a few years ago, I used a free virus program which I valued for the next few months.

So far I haven't had another virus problem.

I think it is part of the story. Every product has an optimal price--it it necessarily good to price as low as you can go. Charging a little more can give an aura of quality and actual increas trust and make people buy more--so long as it is combined with the right branding and presentation

True statement indeed.

This is why the struggling business owner will think nothing
of spending $400 on new cell phones -- but haw about
spending $400 on a product that will help generate more sales in their business (for ex: a copywriting manual to
improve sales on their web site).
