just make sure you dont sell your soul.

ive been reading this typical 'get rich' book..
and im shocked at some of the things the author said.

'to be successful, be around successful people, not around losers'
'dont be friends with anyone who is depressed, it will bring you down'
'concentrate on money, and only money, to make it..dont think of anyone else'

stuff like that...

i dontknow..for that guy to say that kind of stuff..makes me want to stay grounded during the start of my business..

what do you think of those quotes?

Be around successful people...
Stay away from depressed people...
Concentrate on one thing...

These don't sound like bad ideas.

i dont know.. it seems a little self-obsessed.
to say dont hang around poor people..dont even socialize with them is really hard for me to hear. its not fair.

Your post didn't say anything about "poor people". I know of people who have very little money but who are very successful.

Thise quotes don't doing anything for me at all. Even if I tend to to these things it is not for their own sake or to the exclusion of being some kind of moral person.

I am around people I love and who care about me. I go for what makes me happy, and money helps. If my friend is depressed I don't dump them for the nearest happy airhead--nor will they do that to me.

I may not die a millionaire, but I also won't do it alone and friendless to be buried in a really impressive tomb nobody will visit.

That book may well tell you what you need to be rich. It is up to the reader to know if that's all they want in life--and if not how to make the compromise between money goals and other goals.

It's a good idea to think positive of this quote. I think the author gives us tips in handling business. If you're always with business minded people, they are experts and you'll learn many things from them. I think as a person, your sorrounding affects you or even the people around you.

Everyone has a gift to share. Each gift provides you with a diffferent need. All gifts are important and needed in the circle of one's happiness. Noone gift is less or more important than another.

I also didn't care for the quote from the book. I happen to be a person who has suffered with depression all of my life. I've coped with it the best I can and am doing ok with my selling efforts.

In my opinion depression is not something we all need to "beware" of, avoid or be afraid of. Many people live with it daily. It doesn't have to bring you down.....maybe we can bring a little joy into the life of a depressed person.

After reading the quotes in rox's post, I'd have no further interest in the book.

The advice sounds to me like it's coming from a very shallow insecure individual. That's my opinion.
