Google Adwords: Highest and Best Use

What is the highest and best use for Google Adwords? For instance, PPC versus Branding.

If you can't compete with "Natural Listings" then PPC has its place.

Using Adwords for branding can be a good idea depending on your target audience and territory boundaries.

Can you elaborate on that? Thanks.

PPC reminds me of the Chinese Proverb:

"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."

Google Adwords [PPC] might feed you for the day but "Natural Rankings" can feed you for a lifetime.

IMO, if you serve a niche market in a specific territory then it makes sense to publish a few more ads knowing they probably won't get clicked. This is okay however because if you write the ad in such a way that you still get your USP across then you still can realize a benefit (at no additional cost).

Smart! That's a great idea.
