Here is my input

I believe that you should script out your voicemail.

The benefits of that would be:

You are clear and not fumbling. No Uh or ah

Your message is direct and to the point.

I have 2 that I use,one for 1st time and one for 2nd time.

You do this for cold calling? If you didn't incorporate the follow-up email would you still suggest leaving a message?

Calvin,

Your question has two parts. One, Cold Calling is a term that needs definition. I do not recommend a Cold Call. But I do recommend that a Prospect [Company that fits a desired profile] can be contacted with an initial call after light weight research.

I would always leave a corresponding email to any unsolicited outbound call, where I always leave a Voice Message.
