I've just been doing my morning batch of cold calls and a couple of my leads had freephone (1800/ 0800) numbers. My dilema is do I cold call these people in the knowledge that they are paying for my call? Is this ethical? Or should I take the position that as this is the ONLY number that they have publicised that it is therefore ok to cold call them on it?

I would have no issue with calling on these lines if they were the only lines available.

If your prospect was on the verge of going broke because she couldn't generate business and you were calling to sell her the true key to success would you still feel the same way about calling on her dime?
