Essential Information to Gather

It seems to me that no matter what industry you're operating in there is information you need to gather that is essential to success in selling. A few examples would be;
  • Decision making process
  • Time Frame
  • Budget
  • Key decision makers
What would you add or remove from the list?

Add what is the single greatest problem needing solved, what will having the problem solved do for you, and what happens if the problem doesn't get solved?

The prospect's decision making process or the steps a prospect goes through when making a decision like this.

I guess also adding if they are to be upgrading their current "whatever" their likes and dislikes in regard to the current. And what they are hoping to achieve out of the new product over and above the current.
