The ugly step Child, "The Channel"
Hello All,
As you may have surmised, I am on the channel side of sales. I have put in my dues cold calling on the inside, and carrying a bag both as an SE and RD on the outside sales sides of the house. Now I am very happy working in the channel and know I have found my calling. BUT……… There are books, classes, and forums at every turn on how we can hone our direct sales skills. NOT TRUE in the channel, go ahead Google it and you will feel my heart-ache. So I have decided to join this sales forum with hopes of finding a place where other channel folks out there can share our ideas, best practices, and questions. Small or large VAR CAMs, Strategic guys handling huge partners (I am one of these guys), start-up guys, fortune 10’s, Tech industry, financial management whatever, there has to be other channel guys out there finding it hard to find or share channel specific knowledge. |

Definition of the Channel Sales
A means of distributing products to the marketplace, either directly to the end customer, or indirectly through intermediaries such as retailers or dealers. Basically in my line it means selling your product to the buyer VIA outside vendors and resellers.
