Hi Helen:

When you 'hit the heart' you've made the sale. People buy from people they trust and like. People buy from other's who are 'real' people and use all their knowledge and skills to help the customer. People buy from people they've 'made a connection with.'

Product knowledge alone will never put you in the top 5% of salespeople. People knowledge will...Coach Doug

I agree with Coach Doug,
there is more then knowing merely the ins and outs of your product, but youmust hit your clients or listeners heart in order to gain any benifit and see the results at the end of it.

Do you achieve this?

Gerry
Wanderer,
I achieve this through what I call the mental regualtion of my clients - I find that by me putting feelings and emotion in to my speach it clearly comes across to my cleints. This is something that I use inLife Coaching and don't know whether I would use it in everyday sales. I certainly try to show my clients I have their interests first but not always try to get them to feel every pitch in their heart.

In saying that to answer your question I do achieve that. My life coach clients are very happy with their progress and their way of life after a short session with me. So i guess by using the power of inspiration you can help other achieve just anything that is important to them. Ultimately the universe back you up in this and guides the way for you to teach others that are willing to learn.

Thanks for you comments.

One thing that lacks in people in general I find Coach Doug is that fact that people have a loss of love for others and the increase in selfish gain is rampent. In saying that people don't know or know how to counteract with people. I think you would agree after reading your threads.

YOu will see change in just about the whole situation of the customers or clients output of energy.

You may see at one stage they are backing down lik as though you are a sales eagle trying to peck their eyeballs out, but on the flip side once you develop this and help to calm the siutation down you become in control and act more of a consultant to the client rather then the sales person trying to take their money.

The client will then be more comfortable - this will come across in speech and the body language - they may start facing you front on and sitting forward as though they value the information you are giving them and then like coach Doug said - Reply with a contract or a finalisation of the sale transaction.

All the best Helen,
thanks for the comments.

A coach is a guide

I do agree with you snowboy. It needs a special person to be a coach. A person with a big heart. If a coach knows how to do all the things in the world, he might as well leave this profession. A good salesperson doesn't mean he can be a good coach and I am learning this slowly. I have been a sales trainer for the past one year......you always have to bite your tongue! Anybody out there that can share..........

I've been a mentor and a sales trainer in different companies. You have to truly be interested in seeing others get the results they're looking for. I had one person I was mentoring call me while I was on vacation. He had a big presentation and wanted to use me as a sounding board. I got a cup of coffee and spent an hour on the phone. When he got the sale, I felt a sense of accomplishment.

Most of my current coaching clients are those trying to sell to the affluent. My personal experiences help them understand this market.

I also believe humor to be an important part of coaching.

Susan

Hi Susan,

Humor........yeah, maybe I've been too serious in changing people. Thanks for the small but impactful advice.
