Developing an Ability as a Teacher

WHAT is your goal as a teacher? If you have recently become a Sales/Life Coach, you no doubt have the desire to learn how to conduct a sales study program. If you already have experience in this activity, perhaps your goal is to be more effective in reaching the hearts of those whom you seek to help. If you are a parent, you surely want to be the sort of teacher who can motivate your children to dedicate their lives to do good.

IMO it is important to stimulate the minds and hearts of our listeners, and we need to make practical application that the listeners could understand.

Can you accomplish similar things?
If so what do you use?
Any thoughts on this?

Cheers

Keith,
Great post,
I feel I can Accomplish stilulation into the hearts and minds of my listeners.

With using a desirable empathy and caring attitude for the customers needs.

I agree that by achieving this your customers are much more willing to deal with you.

I would not look to see if a coach can accomplish similar things, I would rather be impressed by if they have been able to inspire and teach others how to do what it is that I am seeking.

Barry Bonds might be a great home run hitter, but as a coach I really don't think he will be as good as Tony Larussa.

I disagree Jorel, I feel that a Coach would have several impressions to guide a person through the course they want to take not by heading in the same direction as the coach!

Gunnner I don't see how you are disagreeing, can you elaborate and be specific on what you don't agree with?

Jorel I see what you are saying, but I never said that in order to teach you must display the quality on what you are teaching. Some can teach but aren't that great at doing something in the background. It might be they have great concepts or ideas to drive but little or no practice in the field. I know several teachers that wouldn't be able to competantly do what they teach.

However in saying that I feel the best teachers are those that do.
