Five Stage Selling - One

Stage One - Opportunity Generation
Although this initially begins the process Opportunity Generation is the first and last step of the strategic selling cycle. When taken back to the very beginning it is the process by which we create initial selling opportunities – sales calls, marketing, advertising, referrals, networking etc.

This also forms the last stage of selling, because once we have secured a customer we need to develop the relationship and form a tight partnership that supports both organisations. The time involved and ratio of successful sales is significantly higher down this route, not only that most sales people enjoy this side of sales more because it helps to deliver an outstanding service to our
customers. Therefore creating new opportunities within existing customers, personal referrals and working within the customers own supply chains (up and down) are the most effective and rewarding routes to creating new opportunities.
