My new avatar

You've heard people say, "I want to be like Mike" right? Well, I want to be like Wobblybox.

WB's avatar has been my personal favorite...but now....it's a tie!

You too make such an interesting marketing point to me: The power of effective images. WB, even though I have seen your avatar 100 times, I still snicker at that darn thing. Now with you and Newbie, I can't contain the spontaneous laughter. When I see it again, tomorrow, it will happen again. It's almost magical.

How can I have this kind of impact on my prospects (ok, I'm not sure I want them snickering), but it is so enjoyable and memorable. I have always enjoyed advertising that entertains. I don't know how effective it is, but it is certainly enjoyable, stands out, and leaves a lasting impression.

There is great value in entertainment, that's for sure.

I've personally found that "humor" can be a great tool in all relationships, sales related or not. I'll give you an everyday non-sales example.

Almost everytime I go into an establishment the first thing I say to the first employee I see is, "I'm here for the free...[whatever product/service the company sells.]

After the initial shock wears off the employee I'm in like Flin. The employee is happy, I'm happy and now I get treated like a friend and not just another number.
