Emotional intelligence is the ability to perceive emotions, to access and generate emotions so as to assist thought, to understand emotions and emotional knowledge, and to reflectively regulate emotions so as to promote emotional and intellectual growth. - Mayer & Salovey, 1997

Re: Emotional Intelligence
Hi Jomsom,
The only emotional intelligence I understand is:
a) never act emotionally desperate for a new prospects business
b) control your emotions when you know that you are about to be handed an order you have been working on for months and
c) never get too excited when you win a sale, never get too down when you lose a sale, just learn to balance yourself emotionally. This, in time, will show your existing and new customers that you have poise and control your head "when all others around you are losing theirs"
Good luck

I have heard the term a few times but I've never checked into it. Is this a speciality of yours?
