I agree, the members here have been fantastic in their responses and willingness to share information.

New question - first impression - should I forget Ocean30 for a name and look for other ideas or does the name have a good (whatever the term might be) to it?

Appreciate feedback as I move towards a solution.

Dave

Welcome to the forum Dave.

BTW, the URL in your profile leads to a page that says, "Welcome to abouttequesta.com".

Welcome to SP, Dave. Your user name makes me homesick for SE FL.

Re: Hello from Palm Beach Florida

Yeah - what a day - 2:00 am this morning the sites go down and I contact the support to check on the status - they say the system will back up shortly. I t came up for 15-20 minutes and then went down for the count. I contacted them every 2 hrs. each time with it should only be 30 minutes max type answer. Finally at 10:00 am they say - don't know what to tell you...

By 4:00 still don't know. At 7:00 they tell me that my server is dead and has only been down for only 4 hours and they are offering me a credit in the amount of 3 months hosting fees. Then when I login to the control panel all my domains in the control panel are not matched up with the right domains --- ARRRRRRGGGGG!@!!!! They lost all the data and have no capacity to reload the data. All my traffic records, and everything are all gone. Who knows how long it is going to take to reload 30+ domains.

One of those days. No sleep and not happy -

Thanks for the heads up - I feel better after my little tyraid.

Dave, I believe I know which company you are referring to and I left them earlier this year after "identical" problems and responses. My recommendation would be to find a new host.

I won't go into detail but I will tell you that the final straw for me with IXWebhosting was when after two (2) weeks of server problems I was told that it would be another two (2) weeks before the problem would be resolved.

I particularly like the shortness of the name. The ocean part seems logical (given your location). It seems easy enough to remember (might be even easier if the '30' has some significance or associate ie: located on 30 street, etc.)

Re: Hello from Palm Beach Florida

The 30th latitude line is pretty much the line between Florida and Georgia.

I also have the 8XX-Ocean30 phone number.

Current thoughts is to use Ocean30.net for information for other realtors and financial advisors about the opportunity that we are building. It would include a directory to help people find them and a forum to share and discuss ideas and techniques.

I would continue to use Ocean30.com as my primary site in my market area.

We do a lot with charities and many of the financial strategies include assisting charities. Current plan is to have Ocean30.org include information about our efforts with charities and allow any charity that we associate with to have their own subdomain that they can provide content and we would maintain for free. Examples would include local American Cancer Society Relay for life events and schedules, Nature Conservancy Projects, and several other local groups.

EDIT: additional note - all my emails are not currently working!!! - I am in search of a new hosting service after my 30+ domains have been down for most of the past 36 hours Some are back online and others I have been told they will fix by morning.
