I believe my ability to read and understand people, as well as making them feel like were in this together to succeed has helped me.

Best Strength
Well I am ugly, not funny, can't hear to listen to a customer and as charming as a spit ball.......
but I am thick skinned and don't mind rejection which allows me to go back to customers that have said no in the past. Since I am so ugly they then feel sorry for me and befriend me and eventually buy....
Or maybe they buy just to get my ugly mug out of their office.

Not me
Nope it isn't me . I have never sold cars but often thought it would be fun to try.
I know there is a specific sales model that some dealerships use but it seems so confrontational. I know this model is based on closing the sale now because they feel they can't get a customer to come back if they are price shopping.
One time I had a guy ask me what seemed to be ten times....
"If we can find a car that you like with acceptable terms, can we do business today"
I kept telling him this was the first place I started looking and I was planning on shopping around but he couldn't accept it. He refused to give me any pricing other than sticker if I didn't agree to buy today.
I bought that day....but not from him.
I just think there could be a better system developed.
On the other hand, I had another experience with another car dealership who knew that I was looking for a used car. He called me on the phone and told me about the car and how he knew it was perfect because it had been taken care of and based on our prevous conversation he knew this was the car.
Of course I was skeptical but he was so excited about this car I went and looked at it. I drove it and bought it. He didn't use any canned closing techniques on me. He used his listening skills to understand my needs in our previous conversation and sold me based on my needs and wants.
Only time I ever enjoyed buying a car and my son who just graduated from college still drives it.
