The Patterson Principles of Selling

I'm currently reading "The Patterson Principles of Selling" by Jeffrey Gitomer.

So far it has been very interesting. Has anyone else read this?

I read it several months ago. I enjoyed the book. You can read my review of it on Amazon.com.

Patterson refers to John Patterson, who was the founder of NCR. The philosophy that he instilled in his sales force was that they were in the "receipt" business--not the cash register business.

I like the format of the book and how Gitomer re-examined and interpreted Patterson's principles through his own concepts as a sales trainer. In all cases he shows how they are congruent.

It is one of the better books out there on selling.

I have an unread copy of that book sitting in my "To Read" box. I'll get to it sooner or later.

I've started this book but my reading occurs in fits and spurts. When I'm done I'd be interested in comparing notes.

I've read both the 'The Patterson Principles of selling" and the "Sales Bible" by Gitomer. 'The Patterson Principle' is the better of the two. I'm not a huge fan of Gitomer's writing style in his own books but the Patterson Principal is really recycled methods from John Patterson the founder of of National Cash Register.

Good stuff though..

Gitomer writes in sort of a "chalk board" style.
