PDF files seem to be all the craze as I am seeing them more and more for everything. I'm starting to feel like I look less professional if I don't use them.

OK, I know how to read pdf's, so how do you create them? What is the program and is it expensive?

Adobe Acrobat is the software but you can also create PDF files online.

Thanks, AZ. I don't know if the benefit can justify the cost at this time.

RainMaker,

Check out this site: http://pdf995.com/

I started with the free download, and then purchased the PDF maker - its about $10.

It works as a print driver, so after you load it, you select it as the "printer" when you select to print a file.

It's worked well, never had any problems. You can combine files in one PDF file, probably with the paid version. I use it to send one PDF that contains a report in Word, an associated spreadsheet in Excel, and maybe a Publisher file.

Combining things is easier for the recipient, and if they don't have Word, Excel, Publisher, etc, people usually always have Adobe Acrobat.

There are a lot of other capabilties that I don't use, I'm sure.

I seem to remember having tried this software, and something about it didn't work (but that was a long time ago, so I can't remember, and maybe they've fixed whatever it was anyway!)

Do you know if you can have live links in your pdf doc with this software?

Terri Z

P.S.--I avoid this issue altogether as my VA can convert my files to PDF for me . One more good reasosn to have someone like a VA to help with the details that I hate!
