Sales 2.0

The Web has created significant changes and opportunities for sales professionals to create and facilitate the transfer of information and knowledge, create networks, and leverage collaboration. As a community, how is our industry starting to take advantage of the tools available in the Sales 2.0 world?

The truth is that most small to medium businesses do not have the tools to take advantage of the power of the Internet. Big business does, small do not, even though technology is the great equalizer.

I invented the future, so I don't mind being a little on the brash side and talking it through right here in this forum thread. If you are interested in seeing, using and/or selling WEB 2.99, never mind Web 2.0 this will grab you!

How about this; how would you like to be able to prospect from 275 million consumers instantly and be able to use your contact manager, which is also a marketing management system, to send Instant Messages directly to any number of prospect’s computers – personalized to each of them – with one click of a mouse button?

Or; how would you like to be able to create a database record with just a single mouse click as a result of a call - yes a call- including getting their complete contact info all in a millisecond? Try that with a landline!

Or; how would you like it if the same tool also emailed any number of individuals, all who have given you their email of their own free will (opt-in), again from one tool!

How would you like it if all your data for calling, or; using VOIP, or; sending and receiving email, or; Instant Messages (CHATS), plus; handling all your marketing offers, was contained within one tool, no more contact manager + autoresponder + VOIP address list + email program + time management tool + web based contact system …. And if this tool integrated with an unlimited number of websites to receive data entry from many points automatically? Would this save you time?

Behold the future;

http://highlyeffectivemarketingsecre...=13982&ds=4152

This went out by email from Jeff Blackwell on Monday and is an invitation to see the most impressive use of the Internet in sales in the entire world. I could go on ... you need to get a demo.

Translation: How would you like to have 275 million people instantly hate your guts and either drop everything to send you a piece of hate mail revoking their previous opt-in or roll their eyes and chalk up whatever you have to offer as just another worthless internet scam?

No more pop-ups. There are better ways. Large numbers and all that aside. Sure, if 1% of 275M people actually buy your $1 widget, you've just made $2.75M in an instant, but man oh man, have you got some bad karma banked up.

Who said anything about POP UPS?

I have not ever - nor do I intend to begin - used pop ups. Listen, DM ... since you have no idea of my own personal integrity or my marketing and sales background, I certainly will forgive you your mistaken assumption.

I will also note that Oprah uses this tool. One of the biggest media icons in the world. If she can see it then it is clear perhaps to you that there is more than meets the eye to my simple post above.

I have respect for Jeff Blackwell, the man who runs this forum. So I do not advertise or try to explain what it is my product does. Nor would I take 5 pages of forum space to try and explain it here, I think that an inappropriate use of this free and worthwhile sales training forum.

Furthermore, because there are 275 million consumers available through one networking source and a Sales 2.9 (never mind 2.0) method of allowing them to see the future, that in no way suggests that we do anything other than highly ethical contacting, as my sales team knows; "Getting personal pays off!"

Translate this - ASSUME is another way of saying _______, (what)? Geez, Louise!

Skype has 275 million subscribers. They DO NOT offer a pop up. We do not advertise in the conventional way. And if you want to really understand how to create a global business, perhaps you might like to investigate properly rather than make assumptions?

Any who do need to start with the concept that there are such things as paradigm shifts, new ways of working that you are unaware of. In fact, let me be so bold as to state to any reader that "You don't know what you don't know!"

Technology is moving rapidly. Not one person on this forum understands all or even part of the ramifications of developments
and how they will make us more effective and change what we do in the future.

I am a visionary. Made the cover of a North American wide magazine as a result. I even spent a million dollars of my own money to get to the point where I had a technology no one in the world has ... and I can say with certainty, the model that I preach has NOTHING to do with invading people's privacy and I have never recieved a single example of "hate mail" as a result.

To give you a thumbnail; If you were interested AFTER I contact you personally, then you receive contact from me regularly, but only after we have spoken, emailed or instant messaged each other one-on-one, not through some opt-in web page.

If I send you an IM ... and you agreed to receive them through personal contact, this is not in violation of your privacy. And it is just one of the ingenious ways to make contact with people that we invented. All of which are done only after we invest in people by making personal contact. In fact, part of the ingenious way we work is just how we find people, not what we do after we have found and qualified them.

No, my message has not been understood at all.

That is clear.

I appreciate your candor. Certainly I must have been caught up in the negative emotions which so often accompany the thought of receiving pop-ups. Likewise, I apologize for associating your system with something as irritating and ineffective as a pop-up.

While I have no experience with Skype, my extensive daily use of IM in the form of AIM and Y! even with Trillian results in any un-initiated IM propagating the screen as a flashing item at a minimum. For those who do not alter their settings, it is very possible that these contacts might be viewed as such things. Simple misunderstanding of how your system uses the IM technology.

I guess the part which most vexes me is, given the ability to contact 275M+ people via IM, will you be using IM like email? That is, to do something like an IM blast where you send a message to the entire contact list? Or is this simply providing a means through which to enable better initial P2P contact, to be followed with regular bulk communications?

You can't use IM like email. The medium is a limited ability to communicate. From a clinical standpoint that means SKYPE supports a maximum of 450 characters being sent in an IM. And all messaging system have similar limitations.

So, can you send a newsletter this way? No. The fact that IM is quick and is seen faster than email can be a benefit, if used correctly. It can also - like some professional selling techniques - be used inappropriately, which is clearly not what we teach.

By the way, Trillian, if I remember correctly, is just a product that allows you to manage all of your IM contacting in one location, to save time. Smart, but it is not by itself a carrier of Instant Messages, it uses the API's of each product. I find it interesting, considering that Skype is so wide spread and also offers a ROBUST connection or API, that they do not support it with their tool. I also state the obvious limitations - you have yet another address book ... albeit one for all INSTANT MESSAGING and not several but you still are not connected to sales functionality like TIME MANAGEMENT (saving a recontact date for instance).

Understanding is really a process, you need to see it, then you can begin to understand the power and the WHY ... as in why we bothered to spend a million to do what we have done. For now, it is just interesting to learn what can be done. Whether it applies to you or not is another story but the future is tied to INSTANT MESSAGING and the SOCIAL NETWORKING it makes possible. And that does not mean you can abandon email for the follow up ... the combination i one tool is quite brilliant actually. take TRILLIAN and put it on steriods, that and then some!

Cheers.

You are correct with regards to Trillian being merely a tool which allows users to communicate across application lines (versus its own IM client). As much as I loathe AOL, AIM seems to be the standard out there. If Google has even incorporated AIM into their free email client, it would seem there's no getting away from it.

Sounds like you've got a good bead on what you're up to over there. If I get a bit more time later today, I'll visit the link in your original post and check things out more closely.

Good discussion.

aim IS ONLY BIG IN THE u.s.

Skype is much larger, which is why Oprah went with Skype. That is why we choose to be official Skype developers. As worldwide there are 275 million registered users and the product is also a VOIP tool, not just an I.M. device ...

I would not bother with the link, it is not informational. Best way is to email me, then we can talk ... good luck with your challenge at work DM.

Sales Tool for the Web

I work for a great website that is helping change the way people do sales called Salesconx. It's an online marketplace for business referrals. Salesconx is a great resource for salespeople to make solid connections, cash, and gain some new business.

Take a look and let me know what you think.

Thanks!

Well thank you Gina, we will do that. Of course, we beleive that SalesPractice.com, being number one for "sales training" searches in the U.S. for both Yahoo and Google, is the best place for us to congregate ...

Now, here is a question for all of you;

"Does a website with a forum and a few other services constitute what you would define as WEB 2.0?"
