Life to Commercial Insurance

Hi everyone! I got here by investigating Wendy Weiss' site after one of her webinars.

After spending 11 years in the golf industry, I was forced into a career change due to logistics. I chose the insurance industry and started to sell personal life and disablilty insurance, employee benefit plans and segregated funds. The firm I chose was a small independent brokerage with 3 experienced producers. They offered a higher rate of commision and better starting salary than the larger firm that I was also considering and I knew all the guys well, so I chose them.

After 3 and a half years, I realized that I made a mistake. I received little training and guidance from the firm and was expected to be at a high commision level and on the hook for my share of overall expenses, before I was able.

After digging a financial hole, I made the move to a larger insurance broker and I am now selling Commercial Property, Liability and Auto and it has been fantastic! I've had great training and guidance and the results are already exceeding everyone's expectations.
