Just looking... (haha)

I'm already on so many other forums, but they're the best bet out there to learn so much from other like-minded individuals on any number of subjects. It surprises me that I've not thought to Google "sales forum" up until this morning.

I've managed to dabble in sales on and off. I've long been attracted to the relative unlimited income potential, but being more focused on said potential more than desire to be in the individual industries left me floundering. Looking back, I can see one of my weaknesses was failing to properly qualify leads. That road leads only to stress and dismay.

These days, I'm finally selling something I know about intimately and am truly passionate about - automotive aftermarket performance parts. Back to the car forums, I've learned all I know about vehicle maintenance, modifications, and performance theory from forums just like this one. I own a regional forum and co-administrate another on a global level.

While my automotive experience and knowledge is pretty damn good, I know I could always afford to learn more. Likewise with my sales skills, which are improving nicely (in my opinion) now that I'm passionate about my product line. I plan on checking this site daily. It would be stellar if I could get all this material to be second nature. A lot of it sounds very Tom Hopkins, but like the resident expert with the cool glasses said elsewhere, "new sales models" are usually bogus, repackaged convention, or merely philosophies. (Sorry I forgot your name. Been typing this up between calls.)

Cheers.

Having a passion for what you sell is the first most important ingredient of a successful sales person. The fact that you have that passion turns selling from just another job into a vehicle to serve your clientèle and truly make a difference in peoples lives.

Welcome aboard.
