Hurricane Katrina

Well, I was sitting in a Spanish class today really not paying attention to what was quite going on. My thoughts were elsewhere, floating off somewhere into space. What came to my attention was all the devastion and destruction that has happened in the Southeast, namely Louisiana.

I'm sitting there ruthlessly bored and then an idea pops into my head. How can I help the Katrina victims? The last time we as a nation have had such a national tragedy on the homeland was with 9/11. If anyone begs to differ, then please, let's put our differences aside right now and not agrue who is right and who is wrong.

I've been debating in my head as to how I can maybe help. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm looking towards the online community hear.

We are business orientated minded. We come up with ideas to overcome objections all the time. We finance awesome deals. We craft creative deals and negotiate with the potential customer to get their account.

I don't want to sound like I'm going on a crusade to save humanity here, but how can we use our talents, pool them together, leverage the power of the Internet and raise some money for helping out the people in Katrina?

Drop me your thoughts on here. I'm really curious and excited about starting something with a few good people that will benefit a lot of people. Let me know...

What ideas have you been considering?

Well truth be told, there is this sales book I have recently finished editing. I thought about selling it over the internet. But, after just reading the daily headlines of all the trauma going down in Lousiana, I began to think, how could I sell this and donate the proceeds to the Hurricane victims instead.

I've put a lot of work into it, but right now I'm just trying to think beyond myself.

I was wondering what other resources people have where we could all partner up together and put all of our differen talents to use.

This is our brainstorming session...Let's keep it going.

Matt, if you decide to do that, I will do everything in my power to help you market, sell, and distribute that book. That could include the development of media kits, personal solicitation of business leaders, and recruiting other sales-minded personalities to help promote the idea and help these people.

It is a cause that is bigger than us--and if we put our efforts into it, it can grow wings. Thanks--you've made me feel less helpless.

Re: Hurricane Katrina

It's a sales training manual and only 97 pages long.

I have already written a sales letter, have the graphics done, the website done, and even a merchant account lined up. I originally was planning on selling it as a product for a profit, but I think using it for the purpose of a fundraiser is much more important right now.

I guess the biggest thing is promoting and marketing the book to people. Any ideas?

As well, where could we donate it to? American Red Cross?

Anyone have any other places they would like to see donations go to? I'm getting really excited about this whole project.

We really have something going here.

I am working on writing a press release that I would like to send off to some news companies. I know of a couple of places to send it to.

Is it okay if I mention you company in it?

Thanks.
