Spencer Brice Ltd (Introduction into our work)

Hi all

My name is Nigel Spencer and my business partner (Ross Brice) and I started our own sales training, management development training and coaching business 12 months ago.

Our backgrounds are very simular having both been Group Directors with Lloyds TSB, responsible for circa 300 sales and service staff and their development plus the delivery of all objectives.

Once engaged by a company, we are called back for repeat business. Apart from cold calling on the telephone and getting on the front page of Google, has any one got any recommendations that would get us noticed/wanted more quickly!

Look forward to your comments and help.

Regards

Nigel

Maybe it is just me, but I am confused.....when you write ".....started our own sales training, management development training and coaching business 12 months ago", I might not have much confidence in your ability to 'train' others in growing their sales, if you don't know how to 'grow' your own client base, from the start.

According to a study done in 2005 by Infoseek - 85% of buying decisions are made somehow by referral or word of mouth - the remaining 15% are influenced or made prompted by advertising.

It makes sense to invest time and money into creating and cultivating relationships that result in referrals.

There are many great books, audio and seminars on the topic of building a business by referral. Sounds like you've already experienced success in that method. I would duplicate the what you've done so far.

One of the newest strategies that has developed with the development of social media marketing is a Virtual Buzz Assistant. This is a term that was coined by Ron Mc Daniel, author of Buzzoodle. He has a website where you can post a listing for free to find a VBA.

A Virtual buzz assistant will do things like keep your social media profiles up to date and relevant; book you on Internet radio shows (podcasts); comment on blogs, and post in forums (not impersonating you, but rather representing you with links back to your website or blog). There are some offline strategies as well. Add Ron McDaniels book to your list if you want ideas on how to create buzz for your organization. He was a guest on my Get More Business Podcast several months ago and will be back on again to talk about the VBA membership site.
