Website Design Software

Which website design software do you use and why?

I use Dreamweaver 99% of the time. Even for just basic stuff which I'll copy and paste somewhere else.

I've used Xsite Pro in the past and love it too. I just have not messed with version 2 since I upgraded. But heard it has some great stuff. Just need to get around to using it.

Microsoft Expression Web. I'm not sure why I ended up with it.

Initially, when I was first learning, I used Dreamweaver. Now I use Visual Studio 2005 - a much more robust programme for developing web applications than Dreamweaver.

WordPress is a great Web-based software. It's mostly thought of as a blogging software, but it is useful for any site and its features will save you a lot of time. It allows to modify the site on any computer and anyone you give permission to can easily work or add to the site.

I'm a web developer and all I use is a text editor. For those who would rather have a WYSIWIG tool, you don't need Dreamweaver and you don't need to spend a lot of money. Check out Kompozer or nVue.
