I agree with Mikey. I started off with a blogger site which was simple and easy to start off with but soon became limited in functionality and design. Wordpress does have a lot more to offer in terms of layouts, widgets etc. and the wordpress blogs that I have visited seem a lot more personal than blogger.
I however use a blogging software called Presstopia, only because it is one of the few open source asp.net blogging platforms available which I can fully customise and integrate into my site developments.
