Is McCain out of his mind? Is experience no longer important in the White House?

Length and quality of experience, strategic considerations, and long term goals also come into play, AZBroker. Well, of course you know that and any one of dozens of positions can be taken. I'm sure you listen to the talking heads of political opinion.

Yesterday I listened to and watched a couple of dozen reports/opinions/news items about this presidential subject. Then I read another dozen or two reports online - my sources were varied and of mixed historical perspective.

My conclusion: time will tell.

My opinon on McCain's VP choice: I like it.

My reasons: multi dimensional.

MitchM, or anyone else, do you feel Palin is qualified to hold the position as President of the United States of America?

That's a great question? We all vote for someone - well, most of us do that. Then later decide if we did good or bad in our choice - well, we did good but time changes things - how can you know.

Some people like to think they deal in absolutes. Sometimes maybe is an absolute for some people.

I feel Palin is qualified to be the VP of the United States of America.

So by that do I run next to the question of President of the USA? What about Secretary of State? All the way down the line? Of course this is an exercise in opinon and speculation AZBroker has put into play and it could go on and on in all kinds of directions - we all know that.

I am confident in my vote going for VP choice Palin and watching the chips fall.

Listed below is Palin's experience in politics:
  • Two terms (1992-1996) in Wasilla, Alaska (population less than 9,000) as City Council Member.
  • Two terms (1996-2002)in Wasilla, Alaska (population less than 9,000) as Mayor.
  • 20 Months into first term as Governer of Alaska (approx. population 700,000).
Is that all the political experience a person needs to be the vice-president of the United States of America, and potentially President of the United States if anything happened to the President? I hope not.

Then you tell us what qualified experience would guarantee a president and vice president who would leave the white house having produced four - eight years of well run, well oiled, leadership with little left to debate, AZBROKER.

Tell me more about these guarantees you seek.

I don't seek them - I vote like everyone votes with some set of opinions and emotion and conclusions which direct my hand - I thought you might have them.

I'm not looking for any guarantees... that would be unreasonable. It is also unreasonable, in my humble opinion, to ask someone to believe that the qualifications I listed above are sufficient to hold the position of the Vice-President of the United States of America and potentially President of the USA.

So be it unreasonable. I believe her history is sufficient to get votes for VP.
